client interview tips
Below are some tips and guidelines for the preparation of interviewing a candidate for a position
Interview Preparation
It is very important that you read/review the candidate’s resum prior to the interview. Have a set of questions that you would like to have answered during the interview. Recruit IT consultants are trained on how to establish and understand what truly motivates each individual in the workplace.
Structure Of Interview
It is important that you allow for flexibility and at the same time have some structure in place so that the interview flows and the candidate feels relaxed. Be sure to allow enough time for candidate questions. It is important to remember that it is not only up to the candidate to sell themselves; you too need to sell the business/position to the candidate. A poorly run, interrupted interview does not sell the business and leaves the candidate reacting poorly to the position.
Future Career Opportunities
Candidates like to hear about future projects, career progression and the training they will receive that will help them in the future. It is best not to discuss money during the interview, as money is not the primary motivator for most candidates.
Close The Interview
Keep the candidate informed, by letting them know what the next step is within the recruitment process. Thank the candidate for their time and if there is a candidate that has presented very well let them know. This allows the candidate to leave in a positive frame of mind.
